Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the concept that different parts of the body have corresponding “reflex points” on the feet, hands, and ears. Reflexologists are trained health care professionals who apply pressure to specific points that connect with various organs, glands, and other tissues.

During a typical treatment, the reflexologist looks for tenderness and other sympreflexology-face-exercises-before-after-facial-reflexology-treatments-561x338toms, usually on the feet but also on the hands and ears and, by manipulating these areas, releases blockages in order to restore the proper flow of blood and energy and stimulate healing. For example, if a patient has back pain, the arches of the feet are manipulated. If her or she has a headache, nausea, or insomnia, tender areas in the web between the thumb and forefinger are squeezed or pinched.
