Exercise Training
Exercise is one of the most powerful of all therapies. If its benefits could be bottled and sold, it would fly off the shelves. Regular exercise lowers blood pressure and protects against heart disease. It increases levels of protective HDL cholesterol, builds cardiovascular strength, and improves circulation. Because physical activity increases the cells’ sensitivity to insulin, it not only reduces risk of diabetes, but also lowers blood sugar in people who already have diabetes. In addition, exercise strengthens the bones, improves memory and mood, and is essential for enduring weight control.
Everybody knows this. Yet, fewer than two out of 10 adults exercise regularly, and three out of 10 get absolutely no physical activity. We’re too busy, too tired, too old, or too sick. The health care professionals at Art of Aesthetics don’t buy any of these excuses. We consider exercise to be a primary therapy for reversing disease, preventing future illness, and enhancing quality of life. That’s why physical activity is a cornerstone of our Program.
